Luxury Airport Near Lake Balaton
As a result of the cooperation between the local government of Siófok, Artic Group Ltd.(Arctic Group Kft.) and KÉSZ Holding Co.(KÉSZ Holding Zrt.), the Siófok-Kiliti airport will reopen its gates from July 2008. The municipality purchased the airfield from the state for HUF 208mn (EUR 0.8mn) at the end of 2007, and now agreed to rent it out to the consortium of Artic and KÉSZ Holding for the same amount for a period of 99 years. The agreement was based on the condition that the operators invest HUF 2bn (EUR 8mn) within five years in the development of an airbase meeting the highest expectations. The new airport will comply with regulations of the Schengen Agreement, and will also hold state of the art service facilities.
